Driekie Nel – Blue Sparrow Guest House Manager.
Driekie was born in Barberton, but grew up in Witbank and Middelburg. She has always had a passion for working with people, and hosting guests has always been one of her passions. While working in an office environment until last year it was clear to her that the desk job wasn’t her calling.
She started working on a lodge and realized that hospitality is what her soul’s calling was.
“I love cooking and baking and I’m most happy when people enjoy my food and company. I hope to be a part of Blue Sparrow Guesthouse’s success until it is time to go on pension. This team of ours is a vibrant and friendly, working together to give every guest the most warm and welcomed stay, while away from their homes. I am looking forward in hosting you at Blue Sparrow Guesthouse.”
Zodwa Mokwena – Blue Sparrow Guest House Client Services.
Zodwa has been working with the Blue Sparrow Team for the last 3 years. Before joining us she was a domestic worker for a loving family for 2 years. Zodwa’s passion, much like Felicity is being able to please our guests and being able to listen to all their stories of where they’re from and where they plan to go. Zodwa someday hopes to work her way up to management and loves to learn where she can.
“I hope to one day be a manager at Blue Sparrow. I love the clients we get and how fun they can be. I find cleaning and making a happy place for someone to lay there head very therapeutic. I think that’s the biggest reason why people would book a room with us and not to another guesthouse. Our cleanliness and service is like nothing you’ll get anywhere else. We’re a strong team, that makes all the difference, when we’re happy and smiling, our clients follow suit, it’s so rewarding.”
Shelter Rhodi – Blue Sparrow Guest House Client Services.
Shelter joined us this year and has become the cherry on top of our dream team. She was working in a restaurant and absolutely loves to cook and bake and make people happy with food.
While this has been a slightly different experience she has thrived under the wings of Felicity and Zodwa. Always so eager to learn and make a difference. She takes pride in every little task set out before her.
“I was a little nervous getting started but I’m finding it easier and more enjoyable as the days go on. I love to learn new skills and create new meals for the guests and it’s been so much fun to be able to work more closely with them too. I have am so ready for this adventure and I look forward to making a success of my time here at Blue Sparrow Guest House.”
